and just by asking what you saw there in the ninth reyes obviously has been very good in that role it seemed like the cubs were able to build momentum get some help from walks and things couldn’t quite get traction for you six one lead bring garcia in um strikes out wisdom bulge is the backstop on a wild pitch gets a ground ball uh tough play for paulie throwing across his body couldn’t make it four pitch walk bringing her closer was you know give him a little bit margin for air and you know a couple walks and effectively um you know ground ball single and a ball down the line alex has been great um you know the walks caught up tonight what are your thoughts on how johan pitched the position he puts you guys in especially how he established pretty quickly he was going to be more aggressive with strikes yeah he’s done that at times this year he did it tonight he was dominant you know it’s um it’s a real darn shame that this guy doesn’t get his first win major league win tonight he earned it in every facet he um he pitched extremely well a good change up good slider fastball i mean he was he was really really good gave us five strong innings and left with the lead and you know can’t ask for much more than that i thought he was more than did his part no question about it well job bud well uh well done job by obi jeff jones bubble news democrat mike what do you guys need to make sure you do tomorrow just to leave this one here tonight and get back pointed the way you want this point we got way no going you know we’ll be fine we’ll answer the ball it’s a tough team everybody good brian kylie 101 espn yeah sorry mike um i wanted to ask you because i know this is probably something that fans are curious about tonight with the quick hook there from oviedo what did you see there uh what what made you go to cabrera in that spot fans are asking about a quick hook yeah asking about when you took gobiedo out there 74 pitches um i know the bases were loaded but can you describe your thought process there a little bit for fans bases weren’t loaded and um this is a young guy that you know we want to make sure we take care of let him leave with the lead we’ve got a good bullpen he actually had a little bit of um something going on with his finger if you must know he gave up a hit to bios we brought in cabrera and um he threw up a scoreless inning we got to the ninth with a 6-1 lead the kid did his job you know when the young guy’s pitching and pitching well you know and you give him an opportunity to to leave the game with the win that’s the reason for the fans final question for you sorry about that mike um going to garcia in the ninth inning uh can you give us your thought process going to him there it’s a six to one lead in the night who would you want to go to i know the options are limited there um uh given the situation i would have considered reyes or gallegos in that spot but well you know what not my job it’s not your job we had a five run lead that’s a different situation you know i can’t pitch those guys every night we got a five run lead in the night other guys have to pick there’s a reason there’s a three run save we brought alex in with with some cushion didn’t happen you can second guess it all you want it’s the right move it didn’t work out if you want to pitch those guys every night we won’t have anybody left come september that’s how the baseball works you can’t pitch guys the same guys every time you got a lead it does not work welcome to your opinion
