[Music] dude thank you so much after being here it’s a pleasure to have you here so you’re and you’re an entrepreneur you’re an investor you’re a professor so one are the most interesting trends that you’re seeing right now when it comes to entrepreneurship in africa well first of all thank you for having me here it’s pleasure is all mine um i think what we’re seeing that is very interesting right now for africa is the demographics are changing so africa now has the youngest population in the world and uh some of the highest gdp growth rates in the world so what i’m seeing is a very interesting shift in terms of human resources as well as economic growth with a lot of awareness around the importance of sustainable and inclusive growth which i think will start showing a very different narrative for africa over the next decade okay excellent and so in your region in in egypt what are you seeing the most or kind of what makes egypt the most special for an entrepreneur um that’s an interesting question i think what makes egypt special is that we actually have a very diverse private sector so i think they’re egypt is unique in that you can innovate in tourism you can innovate in agriculture you can innovate in industry you can innovate in education and healthcare egypt is a population of over 100 million people with endless problems so i think if you’re interested in being an entrepreneur they’re endless opportunities and problems to solve in egypt with a government that’s very much encouraging of new business growth absolutely so we’re so we’re here at iu’s campus in segovia spain and as an investor yourself what are the things that you’re seeing right now that you think that most european investors get wrong so i think a lot of investors are always questioning whether they’re going to find top talent in africa they’re questioning uh good gov issues like good governance whether or not we’re progressing on corruption and i think the the missing part of the story is that again we are the youngest population we’re seeing more and more young people [Music] graduate with higher education degrees i think we’re more and more becoming a place where you can find top talent and i think there are a lot more open discussions now about transparency and good governance than we’ve ever had so i i would say and aside from that this is a continent of growth right so there is opportunity the market is huge it’s it remains an untapped market so for anybody who is interested in growing their businesses this is a great place to do it okay thank you so much after being here it’s a real pleasure for us thank you for having me you
