What on Earth Is Happening in Cuba!?

by smart

i guess so i think i need to bring any biscuits count or something you know i know we should have a countdown at least oh so we didn’t get a countdown we’re just live thanks for that alex you know really appreciate as always serious subject matter today cubby you know messing about no problem are we on now ray how you feeling hello that’s how i’m feeling hello you need to say hello to the people i know but i gotta check with you first i gotta make sure you’re okay you asked me three hours ago how was that yeah but you weren’t smoking the cigar then i feel like i’m too i’m i’m way too hot to wear a jacketman how are you managing with like a full-length five years experience experience doesn’t make you cold well i didn’t wear jackets since i you know when i was seven eight or eleven i don’t believe you no i don’t believe you i was i was punk you need to see my haircut back in the time and you you’ll guess that i didn’t wear it ray used to use a tie as a bib [Laughter] you’re not so funny you know that so what are you smoking today a cigar yeah i grant i i got it that much come on what what exactly smoking very cubanistic cigar despite the fact is not cuban the band look like cuban cigar from far is that wahey kohono 2006. pig johnson itself size is five and a half by 50 and 52 looks like a standard five and a half by 52 bellicose yeah i thought it was one of them like really aged cuban belly coasters and then i saw the band it says okay actually still aged nice yeah american mate smell ice yeah have you had one of these before i have the 2003 2009 but not 2006. still a lot of age it’s a lot of age yeah it’s going to be good it is i’m smoking a um somebody ask you no i’m going to talk anyway i’m smoking the uh la florida is it the florida i don’t know how to pronounce things man is there a thing over the end what’s on the end is there a thing over the end no then okay la floricano i think magicos i’m not entirely sure maybe so none of us know what we’re talking about i know about mine i don’t smoke cigars that’s why i don’t smoke cigars which i can’t pronounce i spoke in the uh spanish regional despite the i can’t talk anymore which is going to be a problem today yeah the spanish musical cigar the magicos la florida not a bad cigar needs a bit of age but you know i’m gonna smoke it anyway alex what are you smoking um do you even know it’s a holo okay lcdh edition cigar [Laughter] it’s quite long escogidos that’s the one thing it doesn’t stay on the band so no is it that good in the names what’s the name on your it’s the magicos magicos what is that uh 50 ring gauge there’s no vital 15 gauge there’s a name on the vitora i don’t know the vitola nays they’re too many names man no cubans have some cubans have such stupid names for vitolas now what can’t they keep with the rest of the world you know a churchill is a churchill what the hell is it escogidos man it’s not even a double corona it’s like too short to be a double corona but somehow they made that avitola anyway that’s my little rant for today okay i hate the freaking vitola names that cuba has cause none of them make sense all of them are everywhere and none of you are listening so i don’t you know 27 people are listening well done to them and undresses sorry i was gone what should i look up where’s my like no that’s there’s okay i’m gonna light up first i think you know clearly i’m in a grumpy mood today what a piece of junk like a guy with six lighters on the table yeah there’s six lights on the table none of them work you know this this is my first ever fancy lighter the uh colibri julius i’m so proud of myself i paid 75 quid for it i was like wow that’s expensive i didn’t even know but i stayed upon at that time oh what did andre say you wondered what you should look up oh no no please don’t assume that he needed to look something up no please don’t look up anything no please don’t look up anything so yeah let me just light this up and then we’ll talk please don’t verify anything we say yeah because it just makes us look more amateurish more than usual can we be more than that no exactly we can we can think deeper than that we’re already on the rock bottom [ __ ] hell right you know give us some credit so what we’re talking about today emilia cigar first mentioned chiliabati yeah he’s the guy which come the two things at the same time i know something my girlfriend keeps complaining about just about to say something contends with it but i’m not gonna say it no i said instead you done almost man look you took your time you lit your cigar i saw you go quiet for ages now when i want to do i got to talk as well stop looking at me man let me just so you lick your cigar and then give me your cutter to cut mine look no one’s using my cutter right now alex is using the other cutter that one and if then when you give me that i want to be disinfected i always disinfect it with what with alcohol wipes alcohol whites yeah are they non-alcoholic why would alcohol why would alcohol wipes be non-alcoholic that would defeat the whole purpose of anyway why the vegans eat meatballs the logic in that comment was so flawed i don’t know this is a vegan meatball that’s why i might have another alcoholic wipes [Music] so what we’re talking about we’re talking about something as much as we’re being quite jovial and you know very upbeat about things we’re talking about a pretty um crappy subject today for you for everyone it’s bit depressing what’s happening surely you must have been why don’t you talk about the depressing stuff okay let’s talk about the happy stuff about riots then you know if you may fight them or a drummer drummers seem to do well out of protesting yeah i guess they would yeah they just they they’re standing right at the back right they always seem to be dramas around so yeah cuba a lot of things have been happening i mean we’ve all we’ve practically all of us have been through a pandemic right and we’re kind of just kind of coming out of it now you know boris has some plan he keeps saying he keeps saying he’s got a plan i don’t believe him but apparently he’s got a plan no one’s seen it um but we’re coming out of the pandemic even though cases are technically are they going up at the moment yeah they’re going up um but we’re coming out of the pandemic it’s okay we’re fine we’ve got a vaccine we’re okay there’s no problem don’t worry about it don’t look over there it’s okay um yeah and the pandemic has caused a lot of problems for everyone right cigar industry had a massive downturn for a while as well priceless you guys have gone up considerably over the last year especially in the uk they did go up quite a bit yeah they did okay placency almost 17.99 it’s now 32 pounds this is not because of the demand possibly uh but i think it’s a number of factors because a lot of things are causing the price to go up supply demand pandemic but the pandemic is also exacerbating the demand as well because people are just at home and wanting to smoke cigars right people aren’t doing anything about smoking cigars and then we’ve got cuba what the [ __ ] is happening in cuba like it’s been happening for it seems like it’s been happening forever but this is relatively new right not in this uh not like you know that because of the moment it’s been happening many times people try to take down the government of castro and his family a few times but even one of the rumors say the caster stop smoking cigars because of the assassinations of him oh because he’s restricted assassinated him with the cigars a few times really yeah and that’s one of the reasons to stop smoking cigars but that’s unofficial say it’s a rumor well that’ll get you off cigars right no wow tell us more about that one no that that is it it’s nothing more it’s one of the rumors say castro just been few peep few times he’s a loyal people called literally cigars made for him poisonous how did they know they were poisoned i know maybe the all this way try oh this way you know all the kinks have the people to try the food to try the drinks maybe that i don’t know do you think i mean with the rumors it’s nothing with food for example it’s quite straightforward right you just put you just take your fork in and take a bite right okay that’s not poison i’m okay communism country everything is uh not confirmed so it might be wrong or it might be true sometimes it’s a [ __ ] to be maybe or maybe there was a security issue like no one actually tried but there was a potential security issue where his closest team were like look you know we can’t test these properly so you’re gonna have to stop smoking cigars because it could be a security risk maybe that could be it obviously massive speculation there you know but i don’t know how they would try it like what would you try one cigar from the box i don’t know man right or try every cigar like take a puff from every single castle this one’s all right maybe someone throw them a tip and say that might be a poison box or something this one isn’t no i don’t think yeah i don’t think there was a cigar tester there because i would be the dangerous and awesome job at the same time what’d you do i just test really awesome cigars because you know you could only have you could have let’s say a box of 25 and just one of them is poison right castro i’m assuming smoked a hell of a lot something custard small boxes do you think he just smoked one cigar at a time no no he smoked custom rolls cigars i don’t think he smoked branded cigars from boxes and stuff he have a personal rollers one or two you know maria which is going flow to america when he stopped smoking avelina lara and what was the other guy i forgot the third guy there was his personal rollers i don’t think they will poison the cigar but someone between the factory and his stash is a problem of people between between those two places can poison the cigar yeah so potentially there’s a sorry that coke just hit the back of my throat of all things to hit me like you’d think that the cigar was gonna get me but it’s not it’s the coke cocktail they’re not good at deep throating again huh i’ve never tried i’ve never tried right don’t i’ve seen you how you’re doing with the coke yeah i mean in that mode today i can tell i can tell what mood you brought here ah so castro i mean they had like mini riots and whatever and they had like assassination attempts against him but this is one of the biggest demonstrations that we’re seeing in cuba at the moment and we’ve got two sides one size that are described as being loyalists to the government and one side that are described as being revolutionary and they’re trying to overthrow the government and you’ve got social media which is kind of like going back and forth and then you’ve got media outlets that are kind of reporting on one side or the other and it’s it’s a big bag of confusion but what we can look at what we can somewhat agree on is there’s some problems in cuba at the moment and i don’t think there’s an easy fix i mean the pandemic has caused a lot of issues especially for the um for the government because the government you one thing you mentioned early on when we were talking you were like well you know they’ve got their own vaccine and apparently it’s doing really really well i’m like yeah but a communist nation said yeah we’ve got a vaccine and he’s doing really really well but do you think the pandemic calls all that stuff or the fact that actually castro family is not any more into the i think it’s a catalyst no i think um the pandemic is has just exacerbated it it’s just made it it just accelerated it because but the pandemic has been there for a year and a half yeah why now maybe because the world is the rest of the world are getting vaccines and coming out of it and cuba’s still suffering well the rest of the world the law of countries are way worse to the more even japan you can see that but the u.s is coming out of it the uk is coming out of it we’ve got like football tournaments that are occurring but not many countries can compete versus the top economies in the world what i’m saying is it’s not just one singular issue again we’re speculating right we’re just kind of plucking things out of the air and thinking what if it’s this but i think that it is the fact that a number of countries are starting to come out of it whereas with cuba they’ve got six thousand daily cases i mean their death rate is very low though the the uh the death rate for covid for in cuba is extremely low yeah this smokes the gas that yeah i i don’t know if that’s if that’s a contributing factor but there was a study i don’t know if we got verified we uh we posted it on the list if you can’t prove it don’t say it no there’s a study i said that it wasn’t i didn’t mention something for the diploma as well but there’s a study which counts yeah but there’s a study which counters blue costa was there’s lots of evidence against blue but we’re not talking when we’re talking about plume we’re talking about two very very different things we’re talking about two very different things and i think that a lot of the times it gets conflated into one thing but that’s not what i’m talking about what you’re talking about is not what i’m talking about so any points that i’m making i don’t know why you’re taking it to that because i’m talking about something very different yeah you mentioned but you know that i’m talking about dimensional studies don’t mention studies they’re not relevant but you know that i’m talking about something very different yeah okay anyway i can make a difference no but when i when i wrote anyway we’re going off we’re going off topic a little bit okay we’re going to talk about this issue because so when i wrote the article about plume i thought between us it was clear that i was talking about a particular thing which is not what we discuss because they’re very different aspects they’re very different issues would you agree no comment then why bring it up then it was comment on the previous topic not on this one so yeah maybe you know cigars are contributing to the low death rate in cuba i don’t know sounds like some [ __ ] but could be but their death rate is really low however they haven’t been able to work i i spoke to i briefly spoke to um vb shea i don’t know his real name do you know his idea no no okay so i asked him what he thought and he was saying a lot of stuff about the sanctions and saying the sanctions are the primary reason why this is happening and this has been you know they’ve had a sanction for 62 years it is the longest sanction in in history or modern history i should say for any nation to put on to another nation it’s freaking ridiculously long sanction because initially it was just supposed to be a temporary measure right around the time of uh what kennedy was just supposed to be a temporary measure and it was supposed to be kind of like a bargaining tool as a way of getting something the problem was kennedy was assassinated well next year after the revolution of two years 60 kennedy was assassinated by 1963 i believe the revolution is 1961 too so he didn’t fulfill his uh idea or whatever i don’t know i don’t want to go into politics because i have no idea what i’m talking about when we’re discussing we’re literally discussing politics right now yeah i’m very against politics so well politics are cigar the cigar industry is steeped in politics i mean the um the fact that we’re talking about uh some of these regulations and everything against the cigar industry that’s politics you know light them up lounge for example or light them up go item lounge which one is it what’s what’s the site called light them up light em up world yeah lighten up world constantly talks about regulations and so on uh about the satellites of the world that’s politics yeah that’s politics so i think that you are involved and i think that you are interested but all of these little fluctuations different qualities as much as it’s been related to the cigar but this is related to the cigar industry because cuba is a a big player in the cigar industry we’ve seen massive shortages i mean who was it cigar ministry wrote an article you sent me the link right uh we’re seeing massive shortages across europe for cuban cigars pandemic has potentially caused that so a lot of people can’t work so because they can’t work and because of the sanctions and because of everything happening with with the vaccine it’s kind of become this huge you know [ __ ] cluster and it’s exploded into the current riots and that’s what we’re seeing at the moment and it’s a really shitty scenario it’s a really crappy scenario so this could impact the cigar industry quite massively we might be we might be seeing some long-term shortages it will impact the cigar industry only in the cuban world yeah but that’s still in in uk that’s a big deal for you that might not be an issue no no no about me but i don’t think they will stop producing cigars for a long time maybe they will have some periods of do you think they’ve got stocks lined up ready to go just in case not much of a stock i reckon all the decent retailers and big importers they have the stock i know hunters has got massive stocks available and they’ve got stockpiles ready i’m pretty sure the spanish retail spanish importer as well i don’t know who’s the spanish importer i just mentioned the country because you know it’s one of the biggest uh importers uh probably the what was the balkan one which celebrate 40 years recently they have a decent stock you know the eastern european and the middle eastern distributor all the big names they they knew some sometimes in the future that will happen yeah they all they’ve been just stockpiling they own that yeah because hunters i know they’ve got a holding warehouse everyone from the big retailers and names in the cuban cigar industry they expect the regime to falling down at some point you know they expect that one yeah nobody can say when nobody will say you know that would be because even when they put that sanctions well 56 years ago whatever as you say nobody expected to go for 60 years no something yeah so everyone expect in some moment that will happen they stock they i wouldn’t say they overstock but they have stock i don’t think soon we will have the see the problem about the cubans especially in uk maybe next year you might see some shortage on a limited edition cigars cigars which are you know more uh less produced like a mount you know that kind of stuff we’re definitely not going to see any of the new cigars that were announced anyway you’re not going to see them in two years no i mean that’s what happened usually you know two three years you need to wait for a new and now i think i think they’re going to take even longer because of the fact that um because of what’s happening in in cuba at the moment i don’t know it seems a bit but we don’t know what actually will happen because all the riots might finish in five days they could do they might carry on for three months you might carry on for three years it could turn into a civil war it could be because this is why this is how it started in syria right in syria started off was like little riots and there were there were there were factions on either side one side which was loyal to the government one side which was loyal to the people and then they kind of went against another don’t forget that cuba is island you don’t have a basically where troops to come from you know you don’t have a borders where like but that’s not how syria started off with um but they have the support by different from different countries around them you know a few countries support the government some countries support the riots and you know the big names involved there you know russia and and turkey and stuff like that yeah in cuba you don’t have anyone around well you’ve got china’s got that’s got a vested interest but china’s not going to get involved that close to the u.s don’t want to be involved in that but the us is involved they’re the one so far but the us is involved apparently well apparently i mean miguel the um president of cuba he’s he’s see this is one thing i didn’t like and i’m going to get into it but he basically said that the opposition or the revolutionaries uh all the people that are calling for change they’re all basically mercenaries and people that have been influenced by the us which is [ __ ] really and i hate you when you know this this is one of the things that annoys me because it means that the leaders or the people in charge they never take responsibility they never say you know what we’ve got a few problems let’s work this out let’s open a dialogue let’s talk about this instead what they do is they just dismiss them all as oh no they’re just mercenaries they’re just terrorists they’re just bad people let’s just not talk about it let’s just not do anything let’s just fight them we’ve got to stamp them out well every government will say the same every government does that i know i’m not saying i’m not singling him out because um assad did the same thing right and our government does that plenty of times whenever we know whenever it’s convenient right when black lives matter happened what did priti patel do she did something similar anyway let’s not get into that because that’s a very touchy subject over here but the point is whenever there’s a uh whenever there’s an opposition the government just kind of like they never ever take any degree of responsibility and they always um they always make the situation worse they never improve the situation and that’s what we’re seeing at the moment in cuba the government isn’t making the situation better they’re categorically and at every step making the situation as worse as it possibly can be there’s no method being used to try and quell the situation in a peaceful and reasonable manner and this is something that we see all the time again not singling out cuba because pretty much every government does this but seriously like never you’re never gonna like you’re perfect and the other side’s always wrong do you know what i mean well i don’t know i’m very very far away from the politics and i don’t follow any of the crisis around the world and stuff it’s just i don’t want to be bothered about that it’s you know well you’re bothered about it now homie [Laughter] oh i hate you when this happens you ever maybe it doesn’t happen to new worlds apparently but you know whenever you’re smoking a cigar and then you just get that line of burn that just kind of cuts through the wrapper blame the communists what’s that got to do and copy this you need to blame someone [Laughter] okay let’s blame the communists miguel this is your fault man what happened you had one job but yeah we’ve got what’s this man i’ve got some dust on my shoulder nope it’s not cuba [Music] i don’t know what happened there it still got battery is it still on it just turned off oh but is it back on it’s back on now is the audio back on yeah oh okay that’s fine it’s okay it’s not a big deal man off again why i think the batteries just died the batteries just died yeah you said it had half [Music] now he’s on you is he on me now [ __ ] i’m nervous now i don’t know what to do put it back already we’re back are we back we’re back hey sorry guys um we’ve got this new audio thing looks like a bug but it’s pretty cool it’s made in cuba not made in cuba it’s definitely not made in cuba this is what probably china right still communist i guess taiwan taiwan still coming you still would see still have it on the flag so we um we normally use a battery powered battery life was supposed to be what halfway at the moment yeah and halfway is supposed to be seven hours but apparently the battery meter on this one doesn’t seem to be working properly so that’s a shame really and that’s why you switched off but alex managed to um panic fix it i didn’t panic you were just like oh no what happened i’ve got no gas left and yeah so that’s switched off and now we’re back it’s working again so no problems right is is it no problems speaking of the audio what’s the audio sound like is all right i mean it’s a bit late now into the game but what’s the audio sound like is all right can you hear it have you heard it okay is anyone complaining aside from when you switch is there anyone that’s still watching us we’ve got 31 people still oh okay well audio switch off and you guys stick around thank you very much appreciate it apologize for the um technical issues there but i think we got it man we got it working again yeah i can see it’s working fine so what were you saying what was i saying now saying something nonsense some nonsense anyway yeah you’re not even smoking what are you doing to saying long sentences man i don’t know which one has been you’re not even smoking yeah small are you smoking yeah okay can yours go now no never all right let you off i did did yours go out they didn’t they don’t want to alex didn’t panic i promise i’m sorry alex i had to um yeah so what were we saying we were saying we were talking about something relatively serious and then now we’re back to being stupid again we should not be doing these kinds of subjects should why do we seem so [ __ ] bored right now i am bored the talk what talk about stuff in cuba you know not the embargo is not gonna happen soon we’re not gonna see cuban cigars uh made in different countries or using different why not why not i think that if because it’s not something which happened like that no not like that but you know when obama came in for example he did obama but let me hear you when obama came in he did he did put in an executive order and he lifted a lot of the sanctions um pretty quickly trump came in overturned it biden has continued with it there’s pressure on biden at the moment to put to relieve some of those things how many years bad and half left he just got in right he’s got about three four years yeah three years left three years yeah so not nothing going to happen in the next four years i don’t know i think it could happen i don’t know if cuba’s going to turn into a democratic state i don’t think that’s even they become a democratic that’s not going to happen overnight why not because i mean it all it takes is one executive order and by them was in um obama i mean cuba are not going to be democratic overnight no i don’t think they’re going to become i’ve been i’ve been born in a communistic country it takes a long time i have been six years old when the riots start i don’t remember much almost anything but it it take at least i don’t know good few years to pick a you know proper government you know parliament elections and everything and still now is what 35 years later still nothing changed not much of it so it’s the same people but just now they’ve got office jobs you know the facts are you need a lot of time until things in cuba change they might start changing of course if they become democratically i don’t know how that will happen if they become modern because what’s happened with castro and chigevara back in the time they want the same thing so basically they do riots and and all the juntas and stuff and and what they happened they become a dictators dictators so you don’t know what’s gonna happen it might be some of the guy which lead in the opposition at the moment become a next dictator yeah that that could very well happen if that happened he can he might say i want to ban the tobacco i want to kill all the farmers we don’t know what’s going to happen i guess we don’t i mean that sucks really i mean i’m trying to look at it from the most optimistic standpoint possible which is optimistic let if you say optimistic i think even if some things completely changed now yeah we’re looking for at least three four five years optimistic optimistically three four five years that’s if it’s going to convert into a democratic state i don’t know i mean until we can see cuban tobacco out of cuba into different countries you know i’m talking for cigars which are for sale in in in other countries like states and staff not not before three four five years that’s my my opinion i think it has enough pressure on the government in the us that maybe sanctions could be um relieved a little bit because the sanctions are causing a lot of problems for cuba and the the cuban government well the cuban government don’t seem to care too much because they you know they’re lining their pockets anyway right based on cuban people that are suffering it’s a cuban people that suffer because they can’t work they can’t do what they want to do to um uh make enough money to survive and and live and prosper so what do they do they flee the ones that can anyway are the ones i want to and the ones i can they flee they go to florida they go to uh surrounding surrounding countries and that’s why we’ve seen so many cigar manufacturers prop up pop up around that region that are cuban heritage a lot of those a lot of the major new world brands have cuban heritage right and that’s what we’re seeing so i think that cuba has a systemic problem of losing talent and they’ve regularly lost talent in the cigar industry they’ve lost a lot of talent and it seems like the people on top don’t particularly care because their motives are have we got enough money it seems like that i could be wrong i hope i’m wrong what what does that mean for what has that meant for them for this you know cigar industry in in cuba that loss of talent has it really affected them but i don’t think the problem is loss of talent they always will be good talented people which flew into different countries looking for a big challenge i think the problem with the cubans when the revolution start basically the government took everything so they say cigars are made for the government now they have the habanos you know before the different names and stuff cuba tobacco and stuff so uh they say everything you made is made for us even guys like alejandra robona yeah the one of the most famous rapper makers in the world precisely he didn’t make any money of that so he they honored him to put the name on the brand but he didn’t just lip service it’s just lip service he didn’t get any dividends he didn’t get any any you know bonuses or whatever yeah i mean putting my name putting putting your name on putting someone’s name on a brand it’s just lip service it’s just like oh wow you put my name on it great great work what now they can’t just leave because they literally kick out of the country menendez family you know the people which lead in which uh own the particles and all the big factories back in the time not only him you know i can mention a few guys which you know don pepin probably is one of the best trust me one of the best uh lon zero makers back in the time he ran away from cuba and and other people you know other people like even fuente padron they they’re from cubans you know they they come from cuba back in exactly exactly so cuba literally take everything from that people and say everything is owned by the the government now the party you know what the idea of putting someone’s name on a cigar brand as a way of honoring them is the equivalent of being paid in exposure it’s like oh look you know you call these exposure bucks that you receive like what the [ __ ] can i do with that i can’t eat with that it’s not like i can buy anything with that you know oh wow you don’t have any other alternative i know what’s happening in the communists i know i’m not saying it’s his fault i’m saying you know the government you get killed or you get in the prison exactly alternatively exactly yeah that’s the alternative alex you put the camera too low i mean too high no i didn’t mm-hmm i know but i was controlling that i was managing it no it’s okay i’ll put my pillow underneath now look taller now you’re out of frame again it’s a tough scenario and i think that what’s happening in cuba it was inevitable it was going to happen it was just kind of bubbling up for a while and you could kind of sense it you could kind of feel it like you said right all the um all the major importers they’ve been stockpiling for a while i mean um hunters for example hunters have a holding warehouse just full to the brim of cigars which they haven’t technically imported into the country they’ve just got it there just in whenever they need right that’s what they have and they’ve got that massive stockpile so it’s it’s kind of it’s been a long time coming i guess which is a bit of a shame but now it’s here and like you said it could just be a little blip could be something huge though but the way things are going the way that the government is handling it it looks like it could be a big thing because the government is doing absolutely [ __ ] all to make this situation better they’re doing absolutely nothing they keep calling the opposition mercenaries they keep calling them uh they sold out to the u.s that’s what they say right that’s what miguel said about the uh people who are talking about being against the uh the government and then you’ve got the other side which are loyal together to the government but they believe that they’re being patriotic they’re loyal to the country and that they don’t want the influence of the us dictating the country and then you’ve also got this big [ __ ] of um it’s like no one wants to take responsibility either and i think that this is common across everyone including me obviously you know everyone does this but um cuba keeps blaming the us the us is like look you know we pull sanctions on you because you’re doing xyz for your country so cuba keeps blaming the u.s so to keep blaming the us if you’re if you’re someone that keeps blaming someone else for your problems i know this is a real oversimplification this is a massive oversimplification but if you’re someone that keeps blaming other people for your problems then you’re just not going to get anywhere and that seems really shitty of me to say but let me just qualify that a little bit me a tiny bit there are certain things that cuba or the cuban people or the cuban government mostly the cuban government should be doing or can do to try and relieve some of those sanctions right the closest the closest biggest superpower is the us because if they want to be friends with the u.s then they got to play ball and i know that sucks but if you’re the weak nation then there’s not really much negotia you don’t really have a great negotiating card okay you have sanctions from the states i’m thinking but you you still you don’t have enough supply to sell your stuff everyone else so there’s always no enough supply of cubans cigars in the world the the state is your least problem talking about the selling cuban cigars precisely because imagine if the if the borders are open we can sell cubans in states what’s going to happen they’re going to take 20 30 percent officially more than what we have at the moment they have unofficially 20 percent at the moment every community you got to sell in the states they have another 20 on top that’s where that’s come from yeah that will come from from europe from asia from uh africa from the other continents and cuba the cuban even if they leave the sanctions cuba are not gonna start producing 200 million cigars a year no you know what they they could if they did one thing they just started paying their people a fair wage you know opened up enterprise in the country and give them give them give people the opportunity to actually grow and become something there so it’s not i know that a lot of people because a lot of people on one side keep saying oh it’s a sanctions it’s the sanctions it’s the sanctions no pay your people something you can do the same thing at the moment you can do the same thing at the moment exactly you could do it regardless of the sanctions yeah you can do it regardless of the sanctions sanctions is you can’t sell your stuff in the states but you have the well states is 300 million how many millions of states you have seven billion around the world selling to them i mean there is there is a little bit more to that because it means that a lot of banking um organizations will work with them and there are lots of companies and so on that won’t work with cuba for fear of being um blacklisted in u.s as well but that aside one of the fundamental problems in cuba is the fact that the cuban government just took everything from the people and they said this is ours now you work for us you don’t have a future it’s the it’s it’s you know the country has a future and that’s it and and you know in every scenario in history communism hasn’t succeeded communism hasn’t worked we know that it doesn’t work because it goes against the basic principles of how people work how people operate people are inherently selfish people want something people want to hope people want something for their own futures right i don’t know man i’ve got a degree in journalistics and social media and history but not in politics i don’t know how the communism works you’ve got you’ve got a degree in sorry say that say all of those again no no say what i don’t know i don’t have a degree in uh no no no one talked about politics tell me about the degrees that you have got it doesn’t matter no no say it again say it again because i’m gonna tell you how much [ __ ] you just said there for a second gone what degrees have you got nothing journalistic degree okay so this is like a right up your alley you’ve got a degree in history this is exactly the kind of thing that you’d be interested in in asian history let’s say that way still no communism in the mid-centuries too there were dictatorships in the mid-century no it was the imperial and that’s it you know it’s the emperor or the king that’s it this is a little bit different it’s a little bit different i guess so but yeah i mean you still had did you have opportunity at that point in this in a similar fashion yeah if you have a stronger sword you have the opportunity go kill the queen the king if you kill the king you’re the guy but if you can’t show your family has been the race of the world yeah wow i think the sanctions are being overblown in terms of how much impact it has on the country in my opinion yes as well it’s okay so certain countries don’t want to work uh with the cuba because of the sanctions they will receive after that with the states and stuff but europe works with cuba but all the main economies work with cuba exactly china russia uk germany spain spain name someone yeah they dealing with cuba exactly so maybe some small countries which are dependable of the states they don’t want to deal with cuba but they’re not going to influence the the bvp you know the everything they import the exporter stuff it’s sanctions uh it’s bad thing yes but if you even if you think maybe there even russia have a sanctions yeah are they bothered about that no i mean i’m literally smoking a cuban cigar right now this is straight from cuba i’m in england not england i am in england you know when he said not in england in my head i was like wait where am i yeah but that’s all in england from england it’s not from england no this is not from england but it’s still being it’s still available in england no no sorry cuban cigars i mean in general cuban city gaza available in england but not that one right that one is esconquidos that one is but i don’t know this one is no but this is a regional you can’t use it as a but you know you got my point right stop being so pedantic you asked that’s alex’s job he’s a bit sleepy today alex you’re a bit sleepy today what’s going on i’m not sleepy maybe you follow the chat and there’s a lot of comments in the chat i’m hoping i was also trying to work out something for tomorrow that i don’t have an address for in london but there we go ben should be in the moment man right we’ve got 10 minutes till 9 o’clock so we must take some comments there haven’t really been any questions yet people have just been chatting okay that’s fine then we’ll carry on right how’s your cigar it’s very nice talk about is drunk is that why you’re kind of mellowed out at the moment no just enjoy it you do seem a bit mellowed out man you took that buff then you put it down no man it’s it’s all right i still i still find it difficult i mean i i believe it i believe it but i find it difficult to understand how really age cigars retain so much of their strength 2006 still really they’ve been very very strong so when they were first released they were way too strong it should be way stronger than now well talk about your cigar what’s it like mini review sweet have some dry fruits on the back of the throat which is nice but that’s i i i found many of the strong cigars you smoke if they are strong strong and not peppery strong they have that sweetness like like a fruity bitter jam like a jam of you know jam make of a fix or stuff like that sitting in the back of your throat you know just piling in there that’s with the strong cigarettes i don’t know what i i haven’t think i get like a why that’s coming there i get like a really strong like almost like a bitter fruit kind of flavor is that bitterness no no no no no no no not bitterness bitter fruit which is slightly different you’ve had a bitter fruit no what is that um i don’t explain it doesn’t it like dry do you ever have dried fruits yes kind of like that but no for me it’s more like a jam kind of fruits uh you know back of the throat it’s a it’s very as i say no any pepper in that cigar forget about the pepper the spiciness you have some of the strong cigars nothing there it’s very tasty sweet as far as i know it’s an ecuadorian habano wrapper which is a one of the most tasty ones wrappers and uh yeah it’s really nice to be honest it’s nothing more from a cigar but that was i know i know the kokona line they’re all nice they’re slightly more expensive than all the other lines and yeah pete johnson as far as i know p johnson is the blender but it might be don pepin so i don’t know worth buying yes definitely slightly more expensive than the others but yes how much is that i think the retail when they release them they’re around fifteen dollars so that’s you that’s expensive in the us well fifteen dollars for the u.s it’s an expensive cigar yeah and that’s 15 years ago so that would be nice they are released few years later or something i think at least 2006 or maybe 2000 and later in 2007 uh but yeah the problem is how to find those because they’re not easily available they’re long so where’d you get them i get them uh you can listen to the previous show and you’ll find out where they get them yeah well briefly where did you get that one it’s on the stage um retailer or from like people you know no actually i’ve got that from a guy from uk a friend of mine he’s a big collector of the the that kind of cigars he gave me that a year ago probably he know i like them he know i because i managed to find some of the other kohono lines but not that one so he gave me that to try it and uh it’s not disappointed it’s a nice cigar but yeah retailers in the states i don’t think you’ll find any of those maybe the latest release there is new one now to 2021 uh maybe the last few releases you might find them but the first is 2003 the first were the dual brands dual bands in 2003 that’s the best one for me so far it’s not possible finding it what’s the difference between that under 2003 the torah and the taste is slightly different i think the 2003 is connected broad leaf which is way more sweeter than that less strong as far as i remembered it was strong as well maybe slightly less stronger but i smoked 2003 long time ago no recently because i can’t find them now but uh yeah that’s anything you find it’s decent it’s recommended about two hands you know i enjoyed the last wire that i had uh i can’t remember what it was though honestly uh i just gotta remember um i think it was a red band does that mean anything to you i don’t know they have they’ve got so many they have havana line which is a red band they have the tattoo written black what they have in their end faustu is written black i believe i don’t know what you find but if you if you’re having it from here it’s probably the tattoo that’s more available around our our country and stuff the others are not i got it in a sample but i can’t remember which sampler i think it was one of those um even some of the groups where they have like a a bomb or something like this sandy around it was one of them ones and i smoked that wire and i was like this is actually really good but i can’t remember much about it i just remember enjoying that tatwa so whenever i see it now i just think oh that’s a good brand yeah la michion la italian 59 it’s probably one of the best one you can find it’s become number four in cigar of the year is that a red band no no okay i don’t know what what it was i just smoked it and i enjoyed black gold with the red m r m m yeah yeah in the middle alex talk about your cigar it’s long a bit more go on um mine’s burning so badly though taste wise it’s nice but unremarkable kind of plastic cuban really it was a little bit of sourness a little bit ago but that was it um you smoked the magicos recently didn’t you yeah you didn’t like it it was like it was again average really look how small i look in the frame now man it’s got to sit up i can’t sit back anymore i can’t do this so anyway magikos what do you think of it it’s a bit it’s got it’s got a weird flavor to it hasn’t it just kind of creeps out of nowhere and you’re just thinking like what the [ __ ] is that i was enjoying it what’s this weird flavor i smoked it on a beach in north in norfolk in norway i know you were on a beach in norfolk on the sunset watching seals so the cigar was fine it’s got this weird um i mean this one doesn’t it’s still got a little bit of sourness to it like a weird sourness which i don’t enjoy but overall the flavors are quite nice you i know you haven’t smoked it you haven’t even bothered looking at it yet like you’re not gonna look at it for the next five years at least five years later you’re like oh yeah i remember i had them what’s this called escoguidos uh andre will be able to spell it andre it’s the hoyo got it yeah you can’t spell it wrong it’s just yeah i know i know but in my head the spanish language is easier than the english so hey not for me obviously not for me obviously english do you speak spanish no how’d you know i understand how would you know how would you know spanish is easily you don’t even speak it but i understand more than english how do you how do you understand that more than english when you you can’t even speak in spanish but you’re talking to me i can understand it i can listen it’s called all those yellow smokey cubans huh look how nice oh but you just you got to put the accent in though i’ve got enough accent in the english so i i can’t put an accent into the spanish one i want to hear you do like an english like a bradford accent yeah i don’t know if i can do that bro you need bro i’m not from bratwurst no you’re from blackpool i’m not how are we in bradford right now more close to belford than elites we’re closer to leaves than we are more wakefield than anything isn’t it yeah wayfield is the little bradford the ray feels like little leads yeah it is isn’t it no i just i just want to believe that it is no and you can tell it’s not because everyone who lives in wakefield seeks to distance themselves from bradford i live near leeds exactly no one wants to say that they live near bradford people in bradford like nah man i’m from leading it nadine thinks we should do a cigar giveaway i told them once they start funding our cigar habit then we might think about it we should do a cigar uh possibly maybe you might be something on the card apparently i’m the cheeky one we could do cigar giveaway between us you know yeah i’ll give you one you give alex ray well ray gives me one i don’t have a cigarette magically give you he gives me a magikarp i have no free cigars sorry i’m a poor guy just don’t show the mustache man is it even possible to send cigars to another country it is it just takes forever and also things can come i’ve sent cigars to nicaragua even it seems like the wrong way well not if you want to smoke called cubans yeah that was a fun story i send them i have a cuban cigars yeah old cubans which ones that was a 560 yards you know bundle it was long tell us man i’m interested which ones it’s all cigars why you should want to know it’s in the seven eight cigars old ones cubans and did they arrive that was the fun story so i have the tracking number you know i send them recorded i asked the guy on the until how long up to nicaragua say two weeks should be there month later they’re still showing up they arrive in nicaragua and that’s it that’s it on the tracking i asked the person on the other side do you receive anything or whatever no there’s nothing coming here i start chasing them give a call to the royal mail they say we will investigate and come back to you and a month later another month later i still chasing them say you guys and they say well we lose the truck we don’t know where they are because nicaragua is a little bit dodgy that’s what the guy tell me the character is little bit dodgy so we lose the track we will uh you know compensate that they have an insurance so they complex they give me the insurance back and two weeks later the cigars arrived like three months wow the cigars arrived someone must have grabbed them and thought no no there is someone in the post because i send the cigars to a producer of the cigars you know to someone in there oh i see and they said you know she sent me cigars back uh to try and stuff and i sent her a cuban cigars and she received in like three months later wow but received them on the end and said the bubba it wasn’t even dry out so well it’s all sealed isn’t it it’s not gonna dry out oh yeah three months three months holy crap and i send it to a tobacco factory no it’s not some dodgy address somewhere in the somewhere proper like verified interest yeah tobacco factory and everything like that decent others and stuff so i’ve sent i’ve sent stuff all over the world yeah they ate somebody pointed out they aged them for you they aged them for three months before they gave it to you they wanted to rest it you know that’s from costa panda i’ve never seen the comments before welcome costa pan thank you for joining us what happens if you send something in cuba what’s going on does the government just take you like this you have a you have a friend in cuba you can train i actually haven’t messaged them about um what’s going on because i thought because in the news when i was watching it they were like if you contact them there’s a risk that they they don’t have internet yeah they don’t want they don’t have internet at the moment because internet’s been switched off and two if you do contact them if they say anything that there’s a risk of imprisonment so like that’s the last thing i want to do right now you know cause anyone any any extra drama with what’s going on but cigar giveaways well i’ve got to give cars away now as well damn you don’t have to like i say like it like i once they start funding us we’ll be like yeah we’ve got coffers now 10 000 subscribers or something i don’t know how many do we need 10 000 subscribers we get our first youtube youtube button the play button oh the play button oh it’s going to be a long time when they give it up when you get when you reach 100 000 subscribers they give you like a playback 100 000 subscribers yeah guys next life next life we’ll see you there we’ll be there with our play button on a few freezy cars but why do people want to give away i hate giveaways free giveaways i can make if you want to give away i’ll make you a giveaway but there will be hard questions to answer all gurkhas oh good because speaking of girl because ray you smoked one recently you loved it it’s your best friend now you love gurkhas that’s what you’re saying no we were talking about it on your friday uh live uh video on instagram you guys should join by the way uh when ray does his um live talk on instagram um but yeah you were you did a mini review on the gurkha not particularly a fan it wasn’t a good one but yeah i’m giving you i’m curious is there such a thing as a good gurkha though that’s the thing that’s what we’re trying to figure out yeah i’m keep trying that’s what we’re trying to see we haven’t found a good gurkha just yet but apparently people have said people have said that there might be one or two good gurkhas yeah we haven’t found them i’m i’m at least trying usman doesn’t want to try them no i don’t have the patience for it anymore man i tried a bunch of girl because i thought no i’m done with this man bunch of three no i’ve done four i’ve tried nine nine i’ve tried nine girls i know that’s not a lot you try more than me have i they have nine gurkhas but they weren’t nine all different versions there were nine cigars in total um though they were those [Music] we’re talking about the same ones [Music] now i’ve had 15 i’ve had 15 gregors in total they’re not all different ones but they were not good how many varieties i can’t remember i think clicks eight nine eight seven eight nine well they can’t be nine because you said they weren’t all different yeah maybe seven because like two two of each too i haven’t smoked two i’ve seen you for one you smoked maybe one more before that we smoked wood poop no i’ve smoked about fifteen now fifteen years small fifteenth century you have some total in your life [Laughter] [Music] yeah i think i’ve spoken about 15 workers in total probably you smoke more than the guy who produced them no i haven’t man 15 is not a lot i mean 15 isn’t even a box is anyone in the chat smoke 15 gurkhas look at no one no one smoked more than 15 i’ll make a special prize for those one next time he’ll be there please guys lie i want that special prize that would be a good correlated price okay i don’t want it i don’t want it everyone tell the truth everyone tell the truth that was pretty obvious everyone tell the truth right i don’t want that girl no no i’ll do a giveaway then if you give me that i’ll do a giveaway to ask him to make a button with gurkha and give it to you so most cigar smokes by uh you know 15 isn’t even a box man people stop after the first or second you carry on to 15. so that’s an achievement you need a space for that like i said i really gave them a shot and also because i’d already bought them so i couldn’t i didn’t want to like because you know i don’t just buy like one cigar of one right you buy like multiples of each right no i buy one i okay i don’t do ones generally andre’s try andre you try seven twenty three course he has see he doesn’t count he’s working at the workshop it doesn’t count because how he got home you want to get in the workshop you need to try them it doesn’t doesn’t go yeah you need to try them i’m keep trying but i still haven’t go to the 15 you know i smell good last week i’ve smoked two weeks ago uh apart from android the comments are a resounding no sin since we start the life well we are july now so we start march four months since we started the life i smoked four gurukas that’s a one a month but they’re four different different yeah yeah no i didn’t i haven’t smoked um 15 different gurkhas but before that i smoked three gurkhas for 10 years [Laughter] so i’m i’m around seven eight ish at the moment i’ll tell you what happened right i was following like some of the groups i made the mistake of of seeing like a lot of people you understand after the 15th cigar you’re making mistakes no no i had already bought them once i’ve bought something i’m going to smoke them right it’s a cigar i’m not going to like [ __ ] about it and also you can’t return like if you if i bought it from the retailer i licked it i didn’t like it there you go if you buy from a retailer you’ve got some scope of returning it if you buy from someone else it’s not like you would okay i don’t like these they could happen you need to be involved more into the curves with the raffle prices you can give away them just full of gurkhas right people just trying to get rid of the girls they don’t like that’s what it is right even with all my gurkhas at the moment i’m pretty sure i don’t have even i’m not going to go into the total of 15 with all i’ve been smoking them yeah but you’re talking about 15 individuals guys i’m talking about 15. i’ve smoked so far six seven or eight in total and i have probably another six at home which in for sure i have two nicaragua two san miguel two some weird one beauty i think gurkha beauty and i might have one or two singles some other ones that’s it okay i smoked um is it the reserves they called the reserves they got the figurado shaped ones two years ago i buy a full box of gurkha because i like the box okay and i smoke one cigar from that box and i have one more box of 25 i give away all the rest without even trying i tried that last month it was so very like to give it away 23 or they might give away to our friends i keep the box the box was nice and your friend was like your friend smoked one he’s like and he gave them away as well so that’s just circulating probably came back to me and i’m the one who smoked them ah so anyway back to cuba is more interesting we had a brief inhibition there but you don’t want to talk about cuba no no you can’t talk about no do you don’t want to talk about you no man i don’t know what to say it’s a sad story but i don’t know it is a yeah i think that the sanctions it’s being used as a massive scapegoat i know that i know that it’s easy for me to save while i’m sat over here comfortable chilling with you guys smoking a cigar i know it’s easy to sit back and say that go to cuba then i know i know you know it’s easy for me to say from here i get that i do i am i am aware of the situation in that sense make a private company and go investigate why they have pork cigars well they have plexiglas i’ve only ever had one properly plug cigar uh like plug beyond you know beyond uh tell the people which one the one you choose like 15 minutes choosing from the box and you get the only one playing one i think i finally you know what you know what the problem was you know the one i got at the end it wasn’t the one that i picked it wasn’t because i picked one in the humidor and then it put the camera on me who’s one shut up man he’s in the criminal imagine walking humidor in a tobacco shop which workshop um where we’ve been cavendish yeah so it was when he’s in a cave in districts the humidor is huge i i asked him who’s man what are you smoking um trinidad i don’t know he picked like 560 girls from there i’m gonna smoke without that okay that’s fine he asked me what i’m smoking i said i’m gonna smoke all instead of monte cristo i haven’t smoked for a while and i always like you know when i go to the lounge with friends and stuff to smoke something which i don’t think about much i know the cigar i don’t want to pick a new cigar okay go for it he was literally sitting for next 20 seconds say yeah i’m going for the same cigar okay yeah cause you always you know yeah that’s fine fair point say i’m going for the same cigar you make good suggestions yes there’s nothing wrong with taking your thanksgiving but that’s not the point so you were giving me a hard time about that oh you always copy me the guy which work actually in the in the store the manager i don’t know who was that george is his name george well no no he come around and say uh uh which one which cigar so i say pick whatever you want from the box i’m not first about it and you know it’s in a cigar lounge you’re supposed to if the cigar have a problem they would place it blah blah oozman being behind me you say oh i’m gonna pick my cigar okay usman open them you know the guy just gave him a box imagine that’s a full tray with herself and those ones start no not that one no no that one he dropped one two on the floor no that wasn’t the other that was in the other he would ask another one literally 15 minutes picking a cigar same thing 15 minutes 15 minutes 11. yeah it was 11 minutes 33 seconds it doesn’t matter it was not 33 seconds i’ve got on that evidence i’ve got uh yeah because you guys are obviously going to collude with one another because you know it impacts even even best case scenario it was seven yeah it was like 33 seconds yeah you you pick up like 11 15 seconds there was only five there in the box so um literally picking every single cigar from the box looking that no no no smelling touching you know make a sound on the ear is that cracking blah blah blah all the stuff you’ve seen on the youtube and the channels you know to make more i didn’t smell them though i didn’t smell them okay you missed them that was a problem you need to smell them next time but you know if you do that then people get this again we’re sitting in the lounge no total we’ve been four people yeah getting the same cigar so every one of us take us together smoking mine was perfect and unbelievable perfect alec was alex was all right uzman was plucked as i don’t know what’s the the worst plug possible and literally i can see him become red and the cigar is not moving he just like you know arturo sanduval i’ll tell you what happened though because you know once you pick the cigar he puts it in that little fancy tray and then he [ __ ] off right and you gotta walk in the you gotta go walk in the lounge you sit down you’re all relaxing and he comes after five minutes with all like you know the accessories and whatever and this yeah and then he goes okay here are your cigars which ones would you like so i just picked one up it was only yours there no there were three of them no so everyone just kind of picked one up no you didn’t you didn’t go you didn’t do all that fiddling thing when you when it when he came around with the tray you just picked yours up alex just picked cheese up yeah you say that is mine don’t touch that one so we didn’t oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah you did say that i did something yeah you said you didn’t touch yourself so yeah that’s the yeah that’s you know yeah i [ __ ] up stories from the humidor stories from the human dog that’s a that’s a bold suggestion there what’s the suggestion suggesting everyone in the comments should buy a goku and report back don’t no really don’t listen it’s an interesting thing that ryan jeffrey suggested just don’t do it to yourself you don’t need that drama in your life okay there’s enough [ __ ] in the world already for for you to have to go through a gurkha as well like cuba’s having riots man don’t tell people to smoke gurkhas what the [ __ ] he did say it with a laughing crying face so i’m assuming he wasn’t serious but just in case anyone takes it seriously just in case someone sat there mace don’t buy his mace in the comments yeah mace don’t buy the girl because you don’t need it okay stick to every other new world that ray suggests oh my god i’m gonna find the good gurkha though you’re not gonna find it yeah i’m gonna find okay what happens i’m optimistic what happens if you find it i’ll tell everyone that’s one of the best cigars i’ve smoked become [ __ ] like that if it’s a good one yeah if it’s a good one then don’t say it’s the best cigar you’ve ever smoked but yeah if it’s a good one why not it should be one of the best ones i won’t say it’s a good one you said there’s no best to go well no no it’ll be the best gurkha but that’s like saying you’re the best looking guy in the burns board isn’t it yeah for cosmetic surgery i didn’t get that one doesn’t matter of course it means it’s a low bar it’s a low bar as in like you know being the best gurkha doesn’t mean it’s like it’s like being the smartest ant or it’s like being rude but it’s two meters high why do english need to be so complicated how is that oh yeah cause spanish is so easy isn’t it i [ __ ] understand spanish it is such an easy language do you speak it no i say understand it but not speaking it what’s wrong with you but how would you know alex understand bulgarian he doesn’t speak it he doesn’t say he doesn’t say that english is more difficult than bulgarian though you literally can’t i mean if i was bulgarian i’d i’d be inclined to say yeah well obviously if you’re a bulgarian you’ll be like yeah bulgarian’s an easy language because you already speak it i mean but i didn’t say that for my language i say for the spanish one so it’s third language it’s independent objectively speaking bulgarian is probably easier if you had to learn the language at least at least they pronounce everything the way it’s written yes that way it’s easier but it’s not easy to pronounce some of the stuff it’s so easy to pronounce yeah we have like five more sounds than the english alphabet so too much effort anyway ryan thinks you have a bias against gurkha what gave you the what gave you that impression never why i never that is preposterous i am never biased about goku anyway right that was sarcasm just in case [Laughter] you know i don’t und
